First, you need to know the location where program stores temporary files. By default, application software stores temporary files in the "Temporary Folder" folder. You can find the Temporary Folder folder in the following locations:
- For operating system users: different location
- For Mac users: alternative path to Temp folder
Once you have located the Cache folder, you can try to recover your unsaved file by Searching the files. You can use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + F key combination to search for the file name.
If you are unable to find the file by previewing the files, you can also check the application software's document recovery list. To access the recovery list, follow these steps:
- Launch program on your computer.
- Click on "File" in the top left corner of the screen.
- Select "Recent" from the drop-down menu.
- Click on the "Undo Recent Changes" option.
- Select "Recover Document" from the undo list.
- Choose the document that you want to recover from the list.
- Open application software on your computer.
- Press the Ctrl + Z key combination key combination to open the undo list.
- Click on the "Recover Unsaved Files" button at the top of the undo list.
- Select the unsaved file that you want to recover.
- Launch application software on your computer.
- Click on "File" in the top left corner of the screen.
- Select "Open Recent" from the drop-down menu.
- Click on the "Recover Unsaved Files" option.
- Choose the autosaved file that you want to recover.
